Arthur Channon, Class of 2027
Following his BA in Art History from the University of Manchester, Arthur undertook placements at leading contemporary galleries in London and Mexico City, where he developed a strong grounding in the art world ecosystem and the practical demands of curatorial work. Alongside this, he co-directs The Burrow, an alternative gallery space and collective that stages exhibitions and interventions across the UK. This dual engagement allows him to move between established institutional settings and more grassroots, experimental environments.
Arthur’s practice is particularly engaged with performance and site-specific installation art, often exploring limits of phenomenological activation. He seeks to curate self-reflexive environments that challenge traditional frameworks of display, embracing the complexity of unorthodox spaces. Committed to an anti-didactic approach, his work strives for exhibitionary spaces which cast aside the traditional barriers between artist, audience, and site.
