CRYING PINE TREE, artist talk by Goldin+Senneby

Tuesday, November 13, 2018⋅7:00 – 9:00pm

SVA MA Curatorial Practice, 132 West 21st Street, 10th floor, New York, NY 10011

Free and open to the public.

Goldin+Senneby is a Stockholm-based artist duo who have explored the correspondences between conceptual art and finance capital, but lately their practice has begun to mutate. In dialogue with a research center in Gainesville, Florida, they have conceptualized an “autoimmune tree” genetically “upregulated” to drown in its own resin—a crying pine tree. Their new work takes the form of a mysterious novel, with genetically modified plants twisting the narrative.
