Romy Cohen, Class of 2027
As a docent at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Romy Cohen has developed the skill of mediating the connection between art exhibitions and the public. Exposure to a broad range of museum visitors has revealed the powerful impact that curation can have. The layered complexity of presenting and re-presenting art has inspired her interest in curating exhibitions that bridge the space between open-ended, individual aesthetic experiences and the shared experience of artistic specificity. By creating a simultaneously unique and collective engagement, Romy hopes to generate mutual understanding, shared experience, and empathy among diverse audiences.
Romy holds a B.Arch in Architecture from Pratt Institute and a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Riverside. She has run a photography collective, participates in several not-for-profit arts organizations, and operates a boutique real estate practice.
