Tamsin Dillon is the founder and director of Art in Public, established in 2020, with projects in the US and the UK. In a career spanning 30 years, her primary focus has been on curating ambitious temporary and permanent artworks and projects with artists in the public realm and the built environment. She has worked across a range of contexts, from museums and galleries to public places, including railway networks, public squares, public parks, and hospitals. Dillon has shaped important programs, such as London’s Art on the Underground, where she was the director from 2002 to 2014, and has led and worked alongside artists, curators, and professionals across the non-profit, commercial, and cultural sectors. In 2021, she curated Waterfronts for England’s Creative Coast: a collection of seven major temporary public artworks around the coast of South East England. This was part of a project led by Turner Contemporary in Margate and created in collaboration with six regional English organizations. In 2021-22, Dillon developed a strategy for 18th Street Art Center in Santa Monica, California, as a roadmap to develop socially engaged contemporary public art projects across the city. In 2022-23, she worked with Socrates Sculpture Park in New York City as its executive director.
