The graduating students of the MA Curatorial Practice program at New York City’s School of Visual Arts are delighted to announce the forum, Transmissions, Transitions! The discussion will explore topics surrounding what our present and future concerns are for the emerging professionals in the art field. The event focuses around issues of representation and underrepresentation, i.e. who gets to speak in terms of diverse groups or communities; careers in the art field; and the controversial nature of compensation when applied to physical labor, intellectual property, and artistic practice.
All emerging professionals from a variety of art world careers are invited to participate! This intimate dialogue is an opportunity to unite, compare, and share ideas of how we wish to shape the art world as its newest network. All attendees are invited to a reception generously hosted by The 8th Floor, exhibition and event space of The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation, immediately following the event, which includes a tour of their current exhibition from the curatorial staff.
RSVP for the event on Eventbrite!
