The Artists Roundtable is an international forum for leading practitioners, hosted by Tamsin Dillon of SVA’s MA Curatorial Practice faculty.
Tania Candiani is a Mexican interdisciplinary artist whose practice brings together visual art, sound, literature, music, architecture, science, and traditional forms of knowledge. Working across installation, performance, sculpture, sound, and multimedia, she explores translation between different systems of communication and investigates relationships between technology, nature, labor, history, and cultural memory. Her work often engages with ancestral knowledge, craft traditions, and collective forms of making. Candiani represented Mexico at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015 and has received a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Smithsonian Institution research grant.
