The Curatorial Roundtable, an international forum for curators and institutional leaders to discuss formative and current projects, is hosted by Steven Henry Madoff, Founding Chair of the MA Curatorial Practice at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Allison Glenn is a New York-based curator and writer and the Curator of the 2026 Toronto Biennial of Art. Her work focuses on the intersection of art and public space through biennials, public-art projects, site-responsive exhibitions, special initiatives, and major new commissions. For more than fifteen years, she has worked closely with artists to produce ambitious and experimental projects that reconsider how art operates within landscapes, cities, institutions, and public life. Glenn is also one of the curators of Centro América Red de Arte, opening in Guatemala City in November 2026. Her previous positions and projects include Artistic Director of The Shepherd in Detroit; Curator of Special Projects for Untitled Miami Beach 2025; co-curator of the 2023 Counterpublic Triennial; Senior Curator at the Public Art Fund; and Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. She has published essays in museum catalogues and periodicals including Artforum, ART PAPERS, The Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, and ART21 Magazine.
Through a presentation of various projects, Allison Glenn’s talk, titled Site-Specificity and the Contemporary Environment, will look at the role of a curator working in public space, which often includes production, working alongside institutions, collaborating across disciplines, working with communities, and more.
